BOBS’ DVD REVIEW OF BLADE RUNNER DIRECTORS CUT

Today was the first time I’ve seen Blade Runner,so i wouldnt know how to compare this one to the theatrical release. The movie stars Harrison Ford as a Blade Runner. Blade Runners are basically robot police. They specialize in the hunting and capturing of defective robots who have gone awol. The robots are really hard to detect because they are so humanlike, they look and act just like ordinary humans. The rebel robots are called replicants, and the Blade Runners check suspicious acting people with a machine that determines if you are a replicant or not. The leader of the replicants is played by Rutger Hauer, his sidekick is played by Daryl Hannah. They do a good job of acting human with that cold robotic demeaner just barely creeping out. This movie was not as good as I was lead to believe. I have been hearing so much about it recently and I really got my hopes up. Maybe it was good in the eighties and it just don’t translate well today. Maybe I just didn’t get it. And can somebody explain the whole oragami unicorn to me. I know they’re important to the plot, but I just could’nt make the connection. Mind you,I was running after my 2 year old throughout the movie,so I was watching the movie bit by bit. I should’nt even review this movie because I could’nt give it my full attention, but I will anyway. I give Blade Runner a 6 out of 10.
